It kind of sounds that Wenger is literally stalking him and pretty much following him everywhere with a contract in his hands, begging him to sign for Arsenal

Doing everything to try and sign him is the right move. Get Henry in front of him. Exhaust all the avenues.
However, Wenger can’t use the we tried line this summer if it doesn’t work. Bringing in other quality players can convince Sanchez/Ozil to sign. They’re gone along with what fan support Wenger has left if a top signing doesn’t come aboard.
Sadly, this goes back to the failure of last summer and starting out the season in a hole and losing out by a point for the CL–how big is the opening day debacle to Liverpool now?:sanchez2:

The best option from his perspective is just too stay another season. After 17/18 Ronaldo will be 33 years old. They will be thinking of replacing him and Mbappe would have under year under his belt.
A year is long time in football, he could stay get injured and be forgotten about for Europe’s next hot property young player.

Genuinely asking. Of course when there’s a multitude of media outlets reporting the story, you expect some truth to the situation, but it’s so ridiculously odd to imagine that we possibly bid 100 million for any player at all.

An excellent relationship with Mbappe and his family
This is another huge plus point for Wenger - one that he believes could be a dealbreaker.
He has been close to the Mbappe family for years as he has been well aware of the striker’s prodigious talents.
Last summer he almost signed the frontman for just £500,000, but he opted to stay with Monaco and sign a new deal.
While the decision was a blow to Wenger, the Frenchman did leave a lasting impression on Mbappe and his family.
They were impressed by the Arsenal boss and the respectful manner in which he acted.
