Tough call but if there’s half a chance of fooling Lemar into signing for us now months Before we actually confirm our 6th place finish that would be awesome. Tell Sanchez to get his bags packed and be on standby

We can still win some cups, tbh. It’s enough to convince Lemar to join us

Lacazette can tell him about all the times Wenger will sub him every game before the 70th minute.

If he’s good he won’t be here long anyway. Will get bored of Wenger’s nonsense and join a proper team that wins stuff

Tbh though just how good is Lemar ? Personally think he’s a little overrated, not to say I wouldn’t want him but he won’t replace the goals/ assists Alexis provides.

I think you have a point but I’d say we need to set up the team to feed Laca with chances effectively.

Currently he’s at the bottom of the ‘AOL’ attacking dynamic for various valid reason but with Alexis definitely off it’s a chance for him to assume more goal scoring burden with a guy of lesser stature like Lemar working to assist him

So you don’t want him just because of Wenger?

Lemar would be a great signing but we won’t do anything with wenger in charge no matter who we sign

Agree 100%, but we want the squad to be in the best shape possible for when someone else finally does take over, if that ever eventuates.

ffs. Liverpool are going for it. Lose Coutinho buy Mahrez. While we dally as usual and end up with Walcott replacing Sanchez

Salah. Mane. Keita. Mahrez.

They’re trying to build an African dream team!

The competition will be held in June and July 2019, as per the decision of the CAF Executive Committee on 20 July 2017 to move the Africa Cup of Nations from January/February to June/July for the first time.

One for the summer

Exactly, so let’s get Lemar or Mahrez.

“Contact” and “potential”. Far from a deal done.

If Liverpool get Mahrez and we lose Sanchez without replacing him with another top quality player, it will prove not only that Liverpool have more ambition but that they have also overtaken us.

We are sitting back, as usual, and watching our best players queueing up to leave, while other clubs are doing what they need to do, to strengthen their squads.

Even Everton get their business done early and we have done, and will do, nothing.
It’s pathetic.

You would have a point if the centre of this argument was not Liverpool yet again selling their best player to Barcelona for a big fee. If we did that you would not be calling it ambition.

Yeah. But Liverpool handles those departures differently. At least his one, Coutinho leaving for Van Dijk, Keita and, possibly, Mahrez is good business on paper. The summer Suarez left was a mess tho.

The latter stages of the Copa Libertadores run deep well into next season. If they progress further in that competition he’ll be one for winter 2019 in stead of the summer…
