Arsène Wenger

I guess it makes sense for Wenger to leave now so the new manager has a whole pre-season.

It would be a fairytale ending to win the EL.

I’m SO HAPPY HAHA

Holy shit I just woke up to this!

Fair play to the board and fair play to Arsene for playing this properly.

I thought I’d be happy, but I’m actually quite sad :frowning:

Wow, it’s so surreal. Something so many of us have been hoping and wishing for has happened and it’s totally unexpected, would have thought it was an April fools if not being near the end of the month.

It’s a shame it had to go like this with so many fans having lost all faith in him, he stayed too long and allowed his passion to become his weakness.

He deserves a great send off despite it all and yes if we could win EL to cap off his time it would great, I’m looking forward to a new brand of football and with the staff aquisitions made of late the future is bright indeed.

Whoever the new manager is they have a hell of a lot to do but I think we’ve got a very good foundation to build upon.

Yep lol. I’m so mixed right now - I know he has to go but he’s such a legend. I mean some of us have never known anyone else as Arsenal manager.

Yeah after the initial relief and happiness that cancerball was finished I feel quite sentimental and sad now.

He became manager when I was one lol. Only one I’ve known. He was arsenal for me at a time.

It tells you about the impact he has had on the English game when you look at the tributes and heartfelt comments from neutral journalists and people in the game.

He was a pioneer when he joined Arsenal and we have so much to be grateful for. I think a lot of us wanted him gone sooner, but the timing of the announcement, in this moment of overwhelming nostalgia and sentimentality, feels perfect.

The fans and the team will be giving their absolute fucking all to make his last season a success. It’s going to feel so good for the fanbase to be united and unified once more.

I’m really excited to be supporting Arsenal again, and it feels even better to be 100% behind the manager for the first time in many years.

Neil Warnock has locked horns with Arsene Wenger on plenty of occasions in the past but the Cardiff manager was generous in his praise of the Frenchman at his news conference on Friday morning.

“He’s the man who changed the whole face of the game,” says Warnock, who at 69 is a year older than Wenger.

“We owe him so much, yet have given him so much stick. In a way I’m glad he’s going, I wouldn’t want to see him get any more vitriol than he’s had.”

Very good. I honestly don’t think anyone ever had cause to doubt his class but it’s nice to see it outlined like that.

Yeah this announcement has made me reflect on all the good he’s done for Arsenal rather quick, it’s a long time ago but his first 12-14 years were immense.

That’s it… I’ve been made redundant
