The Other Premier League Fixtures Thread (old)

Chelsea 7 straight league wins only conceding 1 goal in the process, massive game next Saturday when they head to the Etihad to face Manchester City.

Pedro actually has 3 goals and 5 assists in the league this season, considering its one third of the way through the season at this rate he will and with 9 goals and 15 assists.

Just watched the Swansea - Palace game. Horrendous goals and defending lol. Entertaining though!

Palace scored 3 comical goals. They were just ping pong goals :coq:

The defending off set pieces/ crosses from both teams was absolutely hilarious.

Exactly.
Both Chelsea and Liverpool have identified the problem and sorted it out.
They get new managers with new ideas who, with a few new players, transform them into an exciting, effective team.

Is there anyone out there that really believes that either Klopp or Conte would have persisted with Giroud, Walcott, Ramsey, Chamberlain etc, for so many seasons, with the same uninspiring performances?

Imagine what either of those two could do with players like Ozil, Sanchez and Cazorla and a world class striker.

And yet neither of them is running away with the league atm and we may still only be 2/3 points behind both teams after today’s game. I do wonder what the argument will be after one of Liverpool/Chelsea drop of over the course of the season…

That’s true but there aren’t many of their players that would get into our first team and Wenger has been in the PL longer than any other manager, and is the most experienced manager with some of the best players.

If Klopp or Conte came here and Wenger went to a struggling Chelsea or Liverpool team, I’m fairly sure who would be the more successful.

Both Conte and Klopp are inspiring and inventive, and are willing tho change tactics during a game.
They also get the best out of their players and have transformed their teams after only just starting their jobs.

There is one word to describe Wenger’s style of management.
Stagnant.

Meh, at this point, everyone is going through the motions. No one team is looking a certified contender right now and whilst we can all see the benefits of a fresh approach in managerial figures at certain clubs, that will only get them so far. Look long term and the form for everyone will rise and fall until next year when business gets serious and the flops truly expose themselves.

It’s all good praising everyone else right now when things are rosy and going well for them (some even going as far as to support their agendas) but each of these big teams will be going through patches where they can’t get things to work as well as they could before.

I think what is so frustrating from our point of view is that all the other clubs have new managers with new ideas and new players.
We have the same manager with the same problems and no new ideas.

If we had bought a striker or winger at least we would have given the club and the players a lift, like it did when we bought Ozil and Sanchez.

But to go through yet another transfer window without sorting out the glaring deficiencies in our attack is nothing short of a shambles.

All the other clubs identify their problems and change.

All we do is persist with Wenger, who in turn persists with the same uninspiring players.
Why does he think that if our attack isn’t good enough for four seasons, that going into another season with the same players is going to be any different?

How long does this have to go on for?

New managers and their new ideas with zero European football, didn’t get them much far, did they?

But they are doing better, with limited squads and far less experience than Wenger is.
Also Klopp and Conte are above us in the PL, and are playing better football.
They might not finish above us, but at least they are having a go , while Wenger flounders with the same uninspiring tactics, played by several players that aren’t good enough, for far too long.

Only 3 points behind them.
If they are having a go, we are too.

*On top of European commitment

Its probably because our club does not see itself as having a problem, all they are interested in is top 4 and CL knockout stages with we have achieved for nearly 20 years or so.

Yawn.

So United down a goal vs West Ham (Sakho) in minute two, Zlatan just headed in the equaliser in the 20th, I’ve watched several of their games as of late and they have created a lot of chances lately, if they start scoring on them they could start winning games. They’re still quite shaky at the back and mix good with bad an awful lot, so they’re not there yet.

edit haha Pogba the dumbest dive and booked and misses the cup game, Mou is furious and sent to the stands for kicking a bottle (remember?), audience is furious :joy:

Lol! What a dive by Pogba! Deserved booking. And Moaninho gets sent off!
Great block by Ogbonna to deny Ibra the brace.
Randolph, you beauty! Great first half.
