So Barce spent `15million less on a defender who has far worse stats and they think they’ve done the better business. Have they become Arsenal in disguise?

They’re just cranky they can’t steal players from us anymore.

Bar one or two exceptions that club is like a pathetic Arsenal graveyard and players are starting to see it. Fuck those cunt clowns.

Says the club that spent £30 million on hookers and cocaine for Neymar’s dad :arteta:

It’s the Metro. They would literally try to polish a turd.

We did overpay, but fuck me that’s the prem right now. Glad Arsene finally got his thumb out. Kosh and Mustafi as a CB pairing has me excited af

No. Not really. Bar Ozil, and maybe Koscielny or Cech, nobody we have is actually good enough for that team.

I meant it from a career point of view. They’ve lured a dozen players over there and for most of them it ended up being a poor career choice.

But wouldn’t you make the step too one of the most, if not the most succesful club, of the last decade if they came knocking? Fan sentiments aside. Especially since we couldn’t offer some (Henry, Fabregas) of them what they were looking for (Henry the Champions League and Fabregas trophies in general).

But sometimes you need to know your abilities & understand you wouldn’t make it at a club like that.

I don’t know what happens in minds of players like Song for example.
Had he been with Arsenal, he would have been a regular for another couple of season at least, and extended his career longer.
While now, with lack of games & only West Ham in his resume, he is essentially ending his career.

Well I would move to -a- club I guess. I have no idea how many other clubs came asking. But I guess I wouldn’t make the move from us to Barca today no matter what knowing what I know now.

Hleb had one sweet season in 09 with them and then they sent him off on loans and that was that for him. Even Overmars, Wenger stood up for him when people were questioning him, he wins the PL, leaves for the cuntalans and win nothing while we go invincible through the league. Made us rich when he left though. Petit got nothing done there. Cesc was partly trolled one could argue, For Thierry it was alright one could say, Van Bronckhorst did the right thing I guess, But over all I googled we’ve made £123m on sales to Barca, plus I think we got £5m from Cesc going to Chelski. Song and Vermaelen are the most modern examples of why I wouldn’t. I probably missed someone.

In return we bought young Cesc, Bellerin and Sanchez who all did exemplary here, which just make them look even more salty when they complain over our transfer evaluations (with Shkrodran).

Yeah, I guess one could say that is alright.

Oompa I like you mate but you’re really reaching here, and I really hate Barcelona but yeah most players who’ve joined them have won something even if they didn’t cement a long term place in the first team. Only the top top talents have. Even Turan who was one of Atletis best players is barely a bench player for them now.

I don’t know. I’m not sure (Hleb or) Overmars or Song or Vermaelen etc. really think it was the best career move in hindsight. Ending your career climb at 26 to sit on the bench while another group of guys win one or two trophies and that’s that might not be what all of them dreamt of as kids I’m thikning. That most players that joined them have won something might be simplification. People go to top clubs to sit on the bench all the time, I’m sure it is not intentional as long as they’re young, they probably think they have a fighting chance there.

I wonder what the chants will be for Mustafi and Perez

I think Mustafi and Xhaka are going to shore up our defense massively, I think it’ll be extremely different going into this season. Mustafi and Kos can actually jump got headers.

The way Xhaka sits will be immense for us. He’s literally in his element playing as the anchorman and it accentuates his more natural abilities such as his sublime long passes.

Sometimes when I watched the likes of Song/Coq I always felt they are trying compensate for being rather basic players by trying to indulge in a box to box role and join in in our attacks only at the expense of leaving us a man down.

I’m perhaps being a little presumptuous but Xhaka seems very mature and could be absolutely pivotal in us moving forward.
