Santi Cazorla is not fucking Lionel Messi, and the season isn’t over.
Xhaka might very well step up perfectly, lets just see how this plays out without getting dramatic.

My father broke his achilles 20 years ago. He took him 6 months to recover. I think Santi would take less, about 4.
Breaking and inflammation is different though.

Those numbers will get closer to each other in his absence. Without context, what games did he miss; home/away, high profile or not, CL or domestic cups, that number isn’t all telling anyway.
How important Santi is to us is incredibly obvious. The balance and fluidity of the team suffers greatly when he doesn’t play. The way we transition the ball from defence to attack is lacklusture when we don’t have him. Replacing him has become a matter of absolute priority.

Every year it seems since we moved to the Emirates, someone in our team suffers an injury that near enough keeps them out most or the whole season. It just has to be one of our most important players 
We simply don’t have enough creative players to choose from right now, this is a heck of a blow.
Take any one player out of the team and everything falls apart.

The loss of Mustafi or Walcott would be much more manageble then the loss of Cazorla or Ozil. We have zero other creative, intelligent players in the squad like that.
The loss of Santi leaves a big hole in our squad, he’s absolutely crucial to the team because at present no one can replicate what he does to the same degree.

Also this whole with / without stat is utter rubbish. Many more variables to conifer than if one individual played or not.
