We have plenty of players that are useful and that have different roles but what we are lacking is match winners and world class quality.

If Sanchez leaves we’ll need two top quality players.
We only have two players better than Mahrez, and they haven’t signed new contracts, so I’m not sure we are going to attract anyone better than him.
We are out of the CL.
We are being overtaken by all the other top teams, including spurs.
We have to watch other top teams buy several world class players, while we have only bought Lacazette,
We have a manager who has kept nearly all the same the same players and we have stagnated.
Our best player wants to leave and Ozil still hasn’t signed a new contract.
Our transfer window has seen us buy a decent, if not quite the world class striker, that we have waited around five seasons to get.
So it’s not exactly fantasy football the supporters are asking for, but at least a bit of ambition and imagination.
It’s because of our our lack of transfer activity that Sanchez wants to leave.
The fact is, we need world class players, rather than the average ones we have, and we desperately need a good window to give the club a lift.

Afobe was on Barce’s radar too. Few Ligue 1 talents transition. Gervinho and Giroud lit up ligue 1, so did Gourcuff, Sow, Ayew, Martin, Remy to varying levels. Karamoh and Sarr might turn out to be bang average. Fekir after his injury may never get that spark back that made him special.
I actually said in the post before that, that there is obviously no guarantee those players will become good.

Mahrez risks to remain at Leicester. Last year made a bad decision not following Kante away.
