Middlesbrough Thread

They’ve signed a couple of decent players so far…

  • Victor Valdez
  • Viktor Fischer
  • Marten De Roon

Also linked with Subotic and other decent players, pretty sure their business is far from over!

Can you see them stay up?

  • Yes, they will stay up
  • No, they will go down again

Isn’t Subotic coming to us?

Don’t see that happening at all.

He can’t be worse than Gabriel, albeit he is a bit past it.

Aren’t they linked with Alvaro Negredo?

Ah yes forgot him! Close to signing I believe.

Boro will fight for the first 8th places. They have a great manager, a solid squad who are improving with interesting players.

Wow! It’s gonna be a great league. Even the smallest teams are splashing the cash.

That’s fucking classic. :joy::joy::joy:

Karanka looks one for the future. His teams play way better than Mourinho’s.

Would any of us not of taken Alvaro Negredo for Arsenal? Especially on a season long loan!

Always been an admirer of his style, while it didn’t work out at ManCity towards the end, I think he would be a nice option to have.

Anyway, good start to the season for Boro, never a bad thing to win a derby either!

I have always wondered if you can consider Sunderland-Middlesbrough a proper derby.

Too little too late?

Yeah too late they’re almost definitely going down.

Karanka was way too shook in how he set up the team, they rarely played two up the top when they were drawing late in games or chasing. Just wasn’t willing to be adventurous enough.

I’d liken them to how Burnley were the last time they came up, specialists at getting draws but low scoring so they can’t get wins to save their lives.

Mourinho’s negative version. That’s it.

They have Man United this weekend then there is an international break, after which they play Hull and Swansea. They have time to get a decent manager in and get organised before those two important games, so you never know. I’d go for Pardew if I was them – he loves an initial bounce before inevitably dragging the team back down again.

Looking at their team I don’t think they’ve got the personnel to turn it around in what time they have left.

Their striker options are terrible, I’d back Hull and Swansea before them but maybe they’ll pull off a great escape if the right manager comes in.
