Lucas Pérez

Despite his limited appearances, what a great start he’s had with us. His first hat trick for the club! He seems like a clinical, poacher style striker. I love having these increasing options up front. Pleased for the lad

Sanchez shared top scorer in the PL, Giroud scoring buckets as a super sub and Perez up and coming with hat-tricks in the CL?

…Is this what striker depth feels like?

Poacher. We don’t often come across many of those at Arsenal, Eduardo our last?

That should give him a shot in the arm, just in case he was a bit short of confidence coming back from the injury. Will Wenger give him the necessary minutes in any upcoming league matches though, or will he still prefer some combination of Walcott/Chamberlain/Iwobi…

It’s a ‘good’ problem for Wenger I spose’, at least there is a bit of combination with Mr. Pereth back in contention now. It also makes space on the bench critical with selection. I know he and Danny* aren’t everyone’s idea of what they would rather see on the wings but it definitely adds competition for places in the squad, a healthy dollop of that too, which can only benefit us in the long run.

*When he comes back ofc.

The way we play we should score loads of tap ins.

No one ever seems to make those incisive runs that separates great poachers from average goal scorers.

Perez needs a chance to show that our average english wingers shouldn’t have the flanks reserved.

Our forth CL hat trick in just over two years, not bad going really!

The Latinos group up for a hug (Gibbs middle name is Ricardo, just go with it) while Özil the is doing the German schuhplattler folk dance, as is tradition when celebrating, in the background.

Fucking Germans.

Right place at the right time and all that but a CL hat trick is something to be proud of.

I’m pretty happy with our options right now, especially considering it looks like Perez can play anywhere across the front line.

I was thinking the same thing.
Eduardo was a great finisher and in the right place at the right time, which is the key to being a great striker, a bit like Lineker and Van Nistelrooy used to be.
They might have been easy goals but he was there to score them.

If he can fulfill the Walcott role in this attack then that’s good enough for me for his first season. I’m surprised we don’t score more goals like this tbh, it’s what dominating attacks should do, especially when playing a forward like Walcott or Perez or Welbie out wide. That back post run is vital on the opposite flank, otherwise you just end up moaning that Sanchez/Giroud didn’t get there first when it’s 2 or 3 on 1 in the box.

I see Lucas is the new Joel Campbell.

Plays well but Wenger has an agenda against him

Was he a Wenger signing or was he pushed by the board to sign him?

Wenger pushed?

Last time he was pushed was by Pardew heh.

Over 15M for a league cup player. Arsène will prefer Ospina or Martinez on attack instead of him…

Not the Spanish Vardy but the Spanish Park Chu Young.

He was a last second desperate signing to satisfy the fans, that’s it.
