My hope is that the club’s arm was forced by having to make way for his successor to be tied down.
I wouldn’t usually presume such decisiveness from Arsenal but it’s a brave new world now I suppose.
I think it’s pretty damn good timing, gives the players extra motivation before the most important games of the season.
